Panoramic Turin: the most beautiful views from 0 to +670 meters

What are the most panoramic points in Turin? Discover the most beautiful places to admire the city from above.

Admiring the “panorama of Turin” from above is exciting. Few cities in the world can enjoy such a suggestive setting: the Alpine arc that embraces the city from the south, west, and north, with the characteristic profile of Monviso standing out, the hill to the east, the three rivers that bathe it.

Le Corbusier defined Turin as the city with “the most beautiful natural position”.

On this page you will find the most beautiful “miradores2, as they call them in Lisbon, or “belvedere”, as we call them, in short, a selection of places with a privileged view of Turin, starting from the highest, Superga at 670 meters above sea level, up to the most curious at 0 meters above sea level that you will find at the end of the page.

From Superga (+ 670m)

There are many points on the hill from which to admire the panorama of Turin: Villa della Regina, Villa Genero, the Maddalena park, or from Superga, perhaps after climbing up to 670 meters high with the “dentiera”, the rack railway with wooden benches.

From Colle dei Cappuccini or Villa della Regina (+ 280m)

The Colle dei Cappuccini is the terrace on the hill closest to the city: just a ten-minute walk from Piazza Vittorio to reach the most comfortable viewpoint of Turin, perhaps at sunset, with a splendid view of the Mole, the Murazzi, the Po and the Alps in the background.

During the Christmas period it lights up in blue, for the artist’s lights.

Also that of Villa della Regina is a very suggestive viewpoint over the city, a little more difficult to reach on foot.

From the terrace of the San Paolo skyscraper (+ 150m)

grattacielo San Paolo

By booking a table at the panoramic Lounge Bar (37th floor), at the Piano35 Restaurant or by registering for dedicated visits or events, it is possible to climb to the top of the San Paolo skyscraper and enjoy a breathtaking 360° view of Turin.

From the top of the Mole Antonelliana (+ 85m)

The panoramic elevator shoots you in a few seconds from the base to the top of the tallest building in Turin. From there you can enjoy a 360 ° view of the whole city and see the symbol of Turin from an unusual perspective.

From the bell tower of Santa Zita (+75m)

The second highest spire in Turin is that of the church of Nostra Signora del Suffragio e di Santa Zita, in via San Donato. Curiosity: at the top of the bell tower you will not find bells (they are placed halfway up); the highest point was in fact used by Francesco Faà di Bruno (the designer) as an astronomical observatory. It can be visited by reservation.

At the top of the bell tower of the Duomo (+40m)

If you want to do some gymnastics … you can climb the bell tower of the Turin Cathedral: after 300 steps you will be rewarded with a privileged view of Piazza Castello, the Guarini’s domes, the royal gardens and the Palatine Gates.

From the tower of Palazzo Madama (+30m)

If you are lazy and don’t want to leave the center, you can admire Piazza Castello from a panoramic perspective, going up with the glass elevator to the top of the Torre di Palazzo Madama (you need a ticket to visit the palace).

Some photographic panels illustrate the main buildings that can be seen from the windows of the tower: a 360 ° view of the center of Turin, the Mole Antonelliana, the hill and the Monviso.

Walking on Turin at the Museo dell’Auto (0m)

On the first floor of the Mauto, you can walk on a gigantic map of Turin, discovering buildings, streets and squares, as well as the most important Turin coachbuilders.
